First distinguish “progress despite low volume” from “stagnation on low volume.” The former involves repeated entry into new price areas and closes near the directional end, rather than a wick created by an anomalous print. The latter involves overlapping bars and shrinking net displacement, generally suggesting inadequate participation in the original direction. Both have declining volume but different price results.
