Lesson / WY-03-15
Wyckoff teaching traditions use Shakeout somewhat differently. A Terminal Shakeout occurs late in candidate accumulation: price falls more forcefully below established support, absorbing or forcing out supply still willing to sell low, then rapidly returns to the range. It tests the same structural question as a Spring, but often has stronger downward momentum, more active trading, or more pronounced volatility expansion. Distinguish them by the event's intensity relative to normal swings in that range, without preset decline thresholds, volume thresholds, or bar counts.
