Unfinished Bars, Intraday Triggers, and Time Boundaries
Continuation and Complex Structures
Lesson / WY-05-24
A higher-timeframe bar continues changing with new trades until it closes. Its current high, low, price, wick, body, and cumulative volume describe only the observation-time state, not the final close. Unfinished bars can be used. The key is whether trading rules permit intraday judgment and the timestamp through which data were available.
