Lesson / WY-02-09
Actual volume comes from matched trade records, but “actual” does not mean it covers the entire economic market. Central-exchange data can cover that venue, while stocks across venues, cryptoassets, and over-the-counter markets may be represented by only one exchange, broker, or aggregator. Two datasets for the same instrument with different coverage can have different absolute scales and local spikes. Read the data description first.
