Segmented Counts and Their Difference from Phases A–E
Decisions, Execution & Validation
Lesson / WY-06-26
Phases A–E describe the developing function of a trading range: stopping the prior trend, building cause within the range, a possible test, leaving the range, and subsequent progress. Segmented counting is an operational division on the P&F chart, dividing one large horizontal structure by structural events into complete column segments along the same count row. One segment can span multiple phases, and one phase can contain several local segments. The two cannot be mapped mechanically.
